Life of Bryan

Former Pinkerton star Bryan Farris has had a better couple of weeks than the Colorado Rockies.

The 6-foot-3, 210-pound quarterback, who’s doing a prep year at Phillips Academy, has thrown for 562 yards and seven touchdowns for the Big Blue (2-0).

When I caught up to him for a story on the region’s quarterbacks — which will appear soon in the Eagle-Tribune — he was his usual upbeat self.

“I can’t wait to get going (on Saturdays),” he said. “Every weekend can’t get here fast enough.”

After booting 14 field goals at Pinkerton, many figured he’d be a place kicker in college. But as of Tuesday afternoon, it looks like signal calling will be in his 2008-09 course load.

Farris, who finished sixth in his class of 839 at Pinkerton, said Yale is his No. 1 choice.
