I read this story on the Peabody fire in the No. Andover Eagle-Tribune. I read a follow up story that said the fire was caused by a cigarette butt flicked onto mulch. I looked at the arieal photo and could not believe it. Later read that a gas line may have been involved NOT a cigarette but. I called the E-T editor’s office and had to deal with a CALL SCREENER who said “Oh we just picked it up from the Salem News.” No the E-T will not “correct” the story blah, blah. So the Trib printed a LIE and won’t admit it. The story was also deleted from their site. A search of the STAFF WRITERS names turned up a lot but NOT the story on the Peabody fire? Newspapers publishers and editors wonder why people are not buying or reading newspapers in great numbers, which continue to declline, well it’s because they LIE, manage the news, don’t print facts and on and on it goes. I intend to inform the Trib that I’ll be canceling my subscription after more than 40 years. I’d have sent this to Tayor Amerdings blog but …
