Front page ads return

My column this week focuses on the return of front-page ads to The Salem News. I say return because ads like the one above ran in the old (pre-1900) Salem Evening News for years. I’m curious to know what readers think, especially now that the ads have been running for a few days. Let us know.

If the News chooses to run front page ads as a source of revenue, I say go for it.
For me personally, I rarely pay attention to ads, whether they are front page, in the middle, back page, insert or if they double the size of the paper. -
