Danversport and Homeland Security
Oct 1st, 2007 by Dave Olson
I talked in my Salem News column today about Deval Patrick’s new homeland security plan and how such plans are often used as an excuse to keep public information from the public.
Almost a year after the Danversport explosion, North Shore residents, for example, still have no idea of the number of chemical plants in their neighborhoods. They don’t know whether the plants have been inspected or what those inspections revealed.
To us, that’s information people want and need to have.

Frankly, Im starting to wonder why terrorism is still such a major issue when there hasnt been another attack on US soil since Sept 11 (THANKFULLY). Wasnt there supposed to be a Jihad on U.S. soil? Werent the streets of America supposed to be rivers of blood? Am I supposed to beleive there hasnt been any opportunities to launch some other terrorist attack on U.S. soil since Sept 11? And if so, we’ve caught it with our security? I thought we had all these sleeper cells all over the U.S. just waiting for the order to launch additional attacks? Hasnt happened and the government is shamelessly using Sept. 11 to rob Americans of their constitutional rights under the guise of “Homeland Security”.
