Club News has moved
Aug 10th, 2007 by Dave Olson
Local clubs like the Elks, Rotary and the Knights of Columbus are the lifeblood of the communities they serve, donating money, time and experience to those in need. Garden clubs and improvement societies beautify our cities and towns, and groups like Operation Troop Support send letters and care packages to thousands of men and women serving overseas.
The good work of those clubs and dozens more can be found in Club News, the Salem News’ club notes column, which has recently moved from Mondays to Fridays (you can find today’s column here). Written every other week by Cynthia Garber, one of the nicest people on the planet, the column highlights much of what is great about the North Shore.
Where else can you find a rubber duck race to raise scholarship money for local college students, especially where the winning duck pulls in a cool $1,500? (Thank you to the Danvers Kiwanis Club for that one. For more details, you can read about it in today’s column.)
If your club or organization has news to share, call Cynthia at 978-531-5863; e-mail csgarber@comcast.net or fax 978531-6756.
