First off, Kevin Garnett is out with the flu, Doc Rivers said.
Not sure if Kevin McHale was just putting on a smile for us, but he was pretty funny in his pregame session.
When asked about Paul Pierce joining the ranks of Celtics legends (he once infamously said Pierce couldn’t hold Larry Bird’s jock), McHale smiled this time.
“I don’t see an oracle above my head or anything,” McHale said.
He also busted on his old pal Danny Ainge, who he said at one point wasn’t exactly too worldly (McHale said Ainge only knew baseball stats).
“Something would happen like 9-11, and he’d say, ‘What about 9-11?’ He’d think it was someone’s batting average.”
