The locker room was predictably chatty afterward.

Brian Scalabrine laughed at his stat line (27.5 minutes, 3 for 8, 9 points) and compared it to his slightly more high profile teammate.

“I shot the same as Ray!”

Well not quite. Ray Allen had 12 on 5 of 8 from the field.

It’s not like the Celtics needed any extra offense. Even the rookies got into the blowout, which is further proof that Boston is successfully weathering a stormy stretch.

Bill Walker played 12 minutes and scored six points — two came on a 360 alley-oop layup.

“What a night,” he said to himself. “It’s gonna be freezing.”

Walker was in a cheerful mood despite being on the receiving end of an inadvertent Patrick O’Bryant elbow. Both were trying to block Chris Douglas-Roberts‘ shot and BOOM! The collision left a giant egg on Walker’s forehead.

“I got a Scottie Pippen,” he said to fellow rook J.R. Giddens.

I don’t remember when it happened, but about 10 years ago, Pippen got a similar bump on his forehead. If I recall, his was one of the most hideous things I’ve ever seen. Evander Holyfield once had the same thing happen to him. Occupational hazard I guess.

“I’ll be all right probably in two days,” Walker said with a smile.

Scalabrine and Sam Cassell’s postgame debate about the best player with an apostrophe in his name ended rather quickly.

O’Bryant (he was wise to leave himself out of this one) quickly and creatively offered up Mike O’Koren (1980-87) but Scal dropped Shaquille O’Neal and that was that. Come on what about the O’Bannon brothers, Charles and Ed? Or Jermaine O’Neal?

Required reading? Rajon Rondo walked into the media throng holding mini-copy of “Goodnight Moon”. Thankfully he didn’t tell reporters to “scooch closer” in a Christopher Walken voice…

That’s all for now. I’ll be back later with more from Eddie House, who says he’s OK and should be ready to go Saturday after rolling his ankle tonight.
