Sunday Sunday Sunday

SELF-PROMOTION ALERT!

Sunday, we’ll be running our annual Celtics preview in The Eagle-Tribune. You’ll be able to read about Kevin Garnett’s battle with The Terminator (do a little digging, he’s a former NBA player). KG’s influence on his teammates will be discussed. Hopefully there’ll be a few anecdotes you haven’t heard before.

On Monday, co-worker David Willis will offer his predictions and opinions on the season. I’ll post the links as soon as they’re available.

Practice was crawling with reporters this afternoon. Gotta grab sound bites before Tuesday’s season opener.

Good news for Celtics fans. After missing the final two preseason games with an ankle injury, Point guard Rajon Rondo was back in action. On one trip down the court, coach Doc Rivers said, Rondo called a play from last year. The C’s ran it seamlessly.

Nothing ground breaking, but it was a small sign of how far Rondo’s come as a floor leader. That play, Doc said, hasn’t even been put in yet.

Doc, like everybody else, is excited about the upcoming ring ceremony.

“That’s the only thing you get to take home,” Rivers said.

Media relations guru Jeff Twiss said someone told him sporting a modern day championship ring is like wearing an ice cream cone. I say it’d be like wearing a Ring Pop. Except not as tasty.

Have a great weekend everybody.
