Miles away

Darius Miles is gonzo. Yeah he’s had horrific injury problems. Yeah he’s messed up on occasion. But it’s a testament to the state of the Celtics that they were able to jettison him. The guy is still talented.

“I had read and heard a lot of (negative) stuff they said that Darius was,” Doc Rivers said. “And he was none of that.”

But he was expendable. The top of the roster is loaded. And the brass is happy with the supporting cast. It’s a luxury and Rivers know it.

“We almost had to focus on 10-15 more than 1-5,” he said. “That’s nice actually. That’s a nice thing.”

The 15-man roster appears to be set (Who else would they cut? Anybody have an suggestions?). For Celtics fans, that’s probably a nice thing.

NOTES:

Rajon Rondo sat on the sideline during the media portion of practice today. … He didn’t look too banged up. Danny Ainge was also in the house. At one point, he appeared to be showing Patrick O’Bryant the finer points of playing in the post. A few minutes later, he had some fun with Tony Allen by standing about two inches away from him as he was being interviewed. … B. Diddy out for a month? Yikes.
