Gas prices 80 cents higher than a year ago

I have been noticing gas prices creeping up to and around the $3 mark lately and saw this in my e-mail inbox today.

Slip and slide city tonight

Be careful if you’re heading out on the roads tonight.
There has been a bit of chatter on the police scanner in the last hour or so about drivers slipping and sliding on the ice, mainly in Methuen. Police have not reported any injuries. DPW crews are sanding.
