Well, we’ve been monitoring Earl forecasts throughout the night and it’s looking like for the Merrimack Valley and Southern New Hampshire we’ll likely see wind and rain, but little of the destructive wrath a hurricane can bring. This, of course, is good news as we need the rain and the storm promisses to be rather short (about 12 hours followed by sunny skies).
At this point we’ll probably scratch the live storm blog we’d planned. We’ve used that in the past as an effective way to communicate vital information as we get it as well as to hear from you as to what you’re seeing out there throughout the Merrimack Valley and Southern New Hampshire. At this point, however, it seems there’s little to be concerned about aside from closing your windows and pulling the patio umbrella away for the night.
Central Catholic student and amatuer meteorologist Ryan Breton is doing a great job tracking this storm. I like his breakdown of “right now,” “the forecast path” and “potential New England impacts.” Nice job, Ryan.
And Earl: I’ve got a 10 a.m. bikeride planned Saturday morning so if you could move it along, that would be just terrific.
