The 10 percent solution

How slow was yesterday’s election? How about 10 percent slow.
That’s the percentage of the city’s registered voters who turned out, City Clerk Fran Macdonald told me this afternoon. A total of 2,537 people voted. By contrast, 6,363 people voted in last November’s city election, and even that was a low turnout at 27 percent.
