One of the construction companies in the running to become the general contractor for the high school project has lost its state certification. City Solicitor Roy Gelineau said this afternoon that the decertification eliminates TLT Construction of Wakefield.
The six companies still in contention to become the general contractor are Agostino Construction of East Providence, R.I.; Brait Builders of Marshfield; CTA Ventures of Boston; Eckman Construction of Bedford, N.H.; J&J Contractors of Lowell; and PJ Stella Construction of Wakefield.
Companies must submit their bids by Sept. 9. Construction is scheduled to start in late October.
