A heads-up that the city is scheduled to start paving streets in the downtown area tomorrow. Department of Public Services Director Michael Collins said the work will begin on Pond, Chapman and Bow streets, as well as on the busy stretch of Cabot between Pond and Bow streets. All of the downtown businesses will be open and accessible, Collins said.

The City Council is scheduled to hold its final meeting of the summer tonight at 7 at City Hall. The council will take a second vote on the trash fee to make it official. Nothing is expected to change from the original vote last month, which was 7-2 in favor of keeping the annual fee at $100 for residents and $300 for businesses.
