As of 2 p.m., only seven people had signed up at the city clerk’s office to speak at tonight’s public hearings at City Hall. There are two public hearings, one on the trash fee at 7 p.m. and another on the budget at 7:30 p.m. You can still sign up tonight, right before the hearings, if you want to speak.

hayes.jpgReader Marie asks how many teachers will be added to the payroll to staff the new alternative school that will be housed at the McKeown School starting in September.
The answer, according to Superintendent James Hayes (above), is none. Hayes told the City Council last week that the alternative school will be staffed by teachers who now teach at the high school and Briscoe Middle School.
