Ever wonder how much land in Beverly is tax-exempt? Ward 6 City Councilor Judith Cronin provided the answer at Monday night’s City Council meeting.
Cronin filed an order requesting the council form an ad-hoc committee to study the possiblity of the city’s nonprofit institutions voluntarily giving the city money or services, so-called payments (or services) in lieu of taxes.

A Beverly family that knows what Children’s Hospital Boston is all about will take part Sunday in the sixth annual walk in Boston to benefit the hospital.
The Lauranzano family is walking as part of the Pediatric Transplant Center Team. Their son, 12-year-old Dominic, has been a patient of the hospital’s transplant program since he was two months old and has had three liver transplants and countless surgeries.
