The Police Department is bringing back an annual tradition known as “Blue Mass” on Sunday. Police will assemble at Dane Street Beach at 9 a.m. and march to Central Cemetery for a ceremony honoring fallen Beverly police officers.
Eugene Marley, who at 84 is the oldest retired Beverly police officer, is scheduled to be on hand to place a wreath at the Police Memorial.

A reminder that Monday at noon is the deadline to apply for an absentee ballot for Tuesday’s override election. You cannot take the ballot with you, according to the City Clerk’s office. It will be sent to you in the mail.

Latter backs override

After saying earlier this week that he would not take a public position on the override, Ward 3 School Committee member Jim Latter has come out in support of the tax increase.
