On a night when police were emphasizing the need for cooperation between police and citizens, it was the perfect symbolic moment.
At an event at the library to launch its Community Advisory Committee, the Police Department officially commended Pierce Avenue resident Cynthia Funchion (shown above with Officer Sean Connolly) for her role in helping to save the life of a woman threatening to jump off the Beverly-Salem bridge on April 26.
