Brazilian flavor on Cabot Street

I stopped in yesterday to visit with Adelino Silva, above, the owner of one of the downtown’s newest businesses, America Meat Market. The store is located at 296 Cabot St., in the same block as Organic Garden.
America Meat Market is the second downtown business to cater to the Brazilian population, which Silva says is growing in Beverly. The store sells meat and other products, like rice, baby formula and soda, from Brazil.
Silva, 48, said he ran the same kind of market in Florida before moving to Beverly. His family is still living in Brazil, he said.
“It’s a little bit slow, but it’s coming,” he said of his new business.
The other Brazilian business is Yes Brasil, at 319 1/2 Cabot St., which opened in 2002.
