Great news from yesterday’s Shoreline 5k, the road race organized to raise money for Eric Shairs. About 250 people showed up in the rain at Lynch Park to help out Eric, who was paralyzed in a pool diving accident three years ago.
Andrea Listro of the North Shore Coast Runners, the group that organized the race, said more than $6,000 was raised. Ben Strain of Beverly won the 3.1-mile race in 16 minutes, 22 seconds | … continued »

Big changes could be in a store at one of the city’s busiest locations, the corner of Rantoul and Elliott streets.
Sageleaf, a flower and gift shop that had been at 83 Elliott St., has moved to the White Hen plaza down the street. Sageleaf owner Kathleen Holland said this afternoon that she’s been told the block of buildings at Rantoul and Elliott will be torn down to make way for a CVS.
